Vehicle Collision on Western Kentucky Parkway
One person was killed on the evening of December 24, 2007, after his vehicle struck a guardrail and a concrete wall near the 131mm on Western Kentucky Parkway. Central Hardin Fire Rescue, Elizabethtown Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, LifeNet, Hardin County Coroner, and Kentucky State Police worked the scene.

Several passengers were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital and to University Hospital in Louisville following a vehicle collision on I-65 near the Bluegrass Parkway overpass on December 24, 2007. Elizabethtown Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, LifeNet, Elizabethtown Police Department, and Kentucky State Police all responded to the scene.

Two vehicles were involved in a collision near the 89mm on I-65 on the afternoon of December 22, 2007. Hardin County Ambulance Service, Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and Kentucky State Police worked the scene.

Two vehicles collided on Ring Road during a rainstorm on December 10, 2007. One driver was injured, and the other perished as a result of injuries sustained during the crash. Elizabethtown Fire Department, Elizabethtown Police Department, and Hardin County EMS worked the scene.

A refrigerated box truck carrying dairy products overturned on Lincoln Parkway on November 12, 2007. Central Hardin Fire Rescue and Elizabethtown Fire Department worked the scene. Doug's Towing recovered the vehicle.

A southbound pickup crossed the median for unknown reasons and struck a northbound gasoline tanker early on the morning of November 8, 2007. The driver of the pickup was killed in the collision. The driver of the semi was not injured. Central Hardin Fire Rescue, Elizabethtown Fire Department, Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Hardin County EMS, Hardin County Coroner, and Kentucky State Police worked the scene.
Single Vehicle Collision on Highway 86
One person was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital via Hardin County EMS after a vehicle left the road and struck a concrete culvert on the afternoon of October 28, 2007, on Highway 86. Kentucky 86 Fire Department, Elizabethtown Fire Department, and the Hardin County Sheriff's Office were also at the scene.
Vehicle Rollover into the Black Hole
Heavy rainfall in previous days had filled a depression at the bottom of the Western Kentucky Parkway ramp onto I-65 northbound. A driver lost control of his Ford Ranger pickup and rolled into this depression - locally known as the "Black Hole" for the frequency with which vehicles leave the roadway in this area - on October 24, 2007. Elizabethtown Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, and Kentucky State Police responded to the scene.

MVA on I-65 at the 98mm
The left steering tire of a 2001 Freightliner driven by Bruce Thomason of Plainfield, IL, blew as the vehicle traveled northbound on I-65 near the 98 mile marker. The semi crossed the median, overturned, and slid across the southbound lanes into a wooded area. No other vehicle was involved in the accident. Thomason survived the wreck with minor scrapes and bruises. Looking over the remains of the cab, Thomason stated, "My seatbelt is the only thing that saved my life."
Central Hardin Fire Department, Hardin County Ambulance Service, Hardin County Emergency Management, Kentucky State Police, and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement responded. Thomason refused medical treatment at the scene. The semi tractor-trailer was recovered by Doug's Towing. The incident occurred on the morning of October 19, 2007.

Firefighters were tested in IFSAC (International Service Accreditation Congress) practical skills on October 14, 2007 at Bowen Training Center.
Fatal MVA on I-65 at the 91mm
An 8-year-old girl died on the roadway of massive head injuries and another child was severely injured when they were ejected from a Ford Explorer during a rollover on I-65. The injured girl was transported by LifeNet Air Medical to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. Neither child was wearing a seatbelt. An adult driver and passenger in the front seats of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts, and were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. A third child in the rear of the vehicle was also not wearing a seatbelt, but was not ejected. She was also transported to HMH for treatment. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Vehicle Fire on Jako Circle
The driver of a front loader was clearing land on Jako Circle on the afternoon of October 01, 2007, when the vehicle caught fire. Central Hardin Fire Department extinguished the blaze.
MVA on Bardstown Road
As a semi braked to avoid a vehicle that had slowed to make a turn, it slid sideways into oncoming traffic and collided with a Toyota Tercel. The driver of the semi escaped injury. The driver and a passenger in the Tercel were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment, and the driver was later taken to University Hospital in Louisville due to the extent of his injuries. Central Hardin Fire Department, Kentucky State Police, and Hardin County EMS worked the scene. Hardin County Emergency Management was also dispatched in response to a diesel fuel spill. The accident occurred on the evening of September 29, 2007.

MVA on I-65 at the 78 mm
The driver of a southbound Ford van rear-ended a semi that had slowed due to heavy rainfall on the afternoon of August 28, 2007. The driver of the van was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hardin County EMS. A passenger in the van was transported to University Hospital in Louisville by LifeNet. Sonora and Upton Fire Departments, Elizabethtown Fire Rescue, and Kentucky State Police worked the scene.
MVA on Western Kentucky Parkway at the 132 mm
An eastbound semi tractor-trailer struck a bridge near the 132 mile marker on Western Kentucky Parkway and came to rest against the guardrail. No other vehicles were involved in the collision. The driver was not injured. Central Hardin Fire Department and Kentucky State Police responded, and Hardin County Emergency Management worked the scene due to a diesel fuel spill. The accident occurred on the night of August 20, 2007.
Structure Fire on Springfield Road
Hay in a barn along the 2200 block of Springfield Road caught fire on the morning of August 20, 2007. Valley Creek Fire Department, with mutual aid from Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, Glendale, and LaRue County Fire Departments, extinguished the fire. The Division of Forestry also assisted at the scene.
MVA on Western Kentucky Parkway at the 130 mm
A Ford pickup pulling a flatbed trailer and a Pontiac Sunfire collided near the 130 mile marker on Western Kentucky Parkway on the evening of August 17, 2007. The driver and passengers in the Sunfire were not injured. The driver of the pickup was transported to University Hospital in Louisville by LifeNet. The roadway was closed for an hour while the scene was cleared. During that time Kentucky State Police stopped one vehicle whose driver attempted to circumvent the closed roadway by driving past the accident scene in the ditch alongside the Parkway. Central Hardin Fire Department, Elizabethtown Fire Rescue, Hardin County EMS, and the Hardin County Sheriff's Office also worked the scene. A blown tire on the flatbed trailer was considered as a possible cause of the accident.
Fatal MVA on I-65 at the 95 mm
A Nashville, TN couple died and their 16-month-old great-grandson was injured when their vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete pillar supporting an overpass at the 95 mile marker. Officials were looking into the possibility that the driver of the 1997 Ford Mustang convertible fell asleep. The driver and his wife died at the scene. The child was transported by LifeNet Air Medical to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, where he was reported in serious condition. Central Hardin Fire Department, Elizabethtown Fire Rescue, Hardin County EMS, the Hardin County Coroner's Office, Elizabethtown Police Department, Kentucky State Police, and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement worked the scene. The accident occurred on Wednesday morning, August 08, 2007.
Vehicle Fire on New Glendale Rd
Glendale Fire Department, with mutual aid from Central Hardin Fire Department, extinguished a vehicle fire on the afternoon of August, 06 2007. The pickup had been pulling a stock trailer when a fire started in the engine compartment. The trailer was disconnected and was not damaged. The pickup was a total loss. No injuries were reported.

A Suzuki SUV was traveling northbound at 3:30 a.m. on August 06, 2007, when the driver is thought to have fallen asleep. The vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the road and rolled several times The driver and front-seat passenger were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle. The driver, a 32-year-old female from Dayton, KY, died on the roadway of massive head injuries. The passenger, a 36-year-old male also from Dayton, KY, was transported in critical condition to University Hospital in Louisville by LifeNet Air Medical. Two teenaged passengers in the rear of the SUV were wearing seatbelts and remained in the vehicle. One escaped injury, while the other was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Central Hardin Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, Hardin County Coroner Dr. William Lee, and Kentucky State Police worked the scene.
