SUV Rollover

 

 

Central Hardin Fire Department was dispatched to an SUV rollover near the 96mm on Interstate 65 on November 26 2008.  The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, survived the crash.  Elizabethtown Fire Department extricated the driver from the vehicle, after which the driver was transported to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods.  Hardin County EMS and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.

 

Woods Road Structure Fire

 

 

Central Hardin, Glendale, and Valley Creek Fire Departments battled a residential structure fire on Woods Road the night of November 8 2008.  Hardin County EMS, Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and American Red Cross assisted at the scene.

 

Wooldridge Ferry Road Structure Fire

 

 

A single-family residence on Wooldridge Ferry Road was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene the night of November 2 2008.  Central Hardin, Rineyville, Valley Creek, and Vine Grove Fire Departments battled the blaze.  Elizabethtown Fire Department provided a rehab trailer.  The house was a total loss.  No injuries were reported.

 

Structure Fire on Rineyville Big Springs Road

 

 

Rineyville, Central Hardin, Radcliff, Vine Grove, and Valley Creek Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire on Rineyville Big Springs Road on November 1 2008.  Smoke was showing from the single-family residence when firefighters arrived on scene.  Hardin County EMS and Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office also responded.  No injuries were reported.

 

Pickup Truck vs. Semi Tractor-Trailer

 

 

One person was injured when a pickup rear-ended a semi on East Dixie Avenue in Elizabethtown on October 31 2008.  Elizabethtown Fire Department extricated the driver of the pickup.  The driver was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hardin County EMS. 

 

Star Mills Road Structure Fire

 

 

Smoke and flames were showing from a single family residence when firefighters arrived on scene on October 23 2008.  White Mills, Stephensburg, and Sonora Fire Departments extinguished the fire at the Star Mills Road home.  Hardin County EMS assisted at the scene.

 

Vehicle Fire

 

 

Central Hardin and Radcliff Fire Departments responded on October 8 2008 to a vehicle fire on Battle Training Road.  The passenger car was fully involved when firefighters arrived.  Hardin County EMS and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.  One injury was reported.

 

Semi Tractor-Trailer Collision

 

 

An injury and a fatality resulted when one semi tractor trailer rear-ended another near the 76mm on Interstate 65 on September 25 2008.  One of the trucks caught fire and was fully involved when firefighters arrived.  Upton, Elizabethtown, Sonora, and Bonnieville Fire Departments extinguished the fire.  Hardin County EMS, Kentucky State Police, and the Larue County Coroner also assisted at the scene.

 

Pickup Truck vs. Delivery Van

 

 

One injury and one fatality resulted when a Federal Express van and a pickup truck collided head-on along Bardstown Road on September 24 2008.  Central Hardin and Elizabethtown Fire Departments, Hardin County EMS, the Hardin County Coroner, and Kentucky State Police responded to the scene.  The deceased driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle.

 

Two-Vehicle Collision

 

 

Rineyville and Radcliff Fire Departments responded to the scene of a side-impact motor vehicle collision with entrapment on August 31 2008 at the intersection of Hwy 220 and Deckard School Road.  Firefighters extricated the patients, one of whom was flown to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods.  A second injured party was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hardin County EMS.  Kentucky State Police were also at the scene.

 

Car vs. Concrete Pillar

 

 

A passenger car left the roadway and crashed head-on into a concrete pillar near the 89mm on Interstate 65 on August 11 2008.  Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, and Glendale Fire Departments ensured scene safety and extricated the driver and passenger.  A third passenger, a child, had already been removed from the wreckage by a passerby.  Hardin County EMS worked to stabilize the patients.  Both adults were flown by Air Methods to University Hospital in Louisville.  The child was transported by ambulance to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment.  Kentucky State Police were also at the scene.

 

Semi Fire

 

 

A semi caught fire near the 130mm on Western Kentucky Parkway on July 29 2008.  Central Hardin Fire Rescue extinguished the fire.  Hardin County EMS and Kentucky State Police also responded to the scene.

 

Car vs. Tree

 

 

Sonora and Elizabethtown Fire Departments were dispatched to a single-vehicle head-on collision with entrapment on Nolin Road on July 17 2008.  Firefighters extricated the driver, who was flown to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods.  Hardin County EMS and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.

 

First Street Structure Fire

 

 

Central Hardin Fire Rescue, with mutual aid from Radcliff, Rineyville, and Valley Creek Fire Departments, battled a commercial structure fire on First Street during the night of July 6 2008.  The auction barn was fully involved upon firefighters' arrival and burned to the ground.  Hardin County EMS and Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.  American Red Cross set up a rehab table for the firefighters, who worked on scene more than four hours.

 

 

Semi Tractor-Trailer Collision & Fuel Spill

 

 

A semi tractor-trailer left the roadway and plunged to the highway below the overpass bridges near the 102mm on Interstate 65 on June 28 2008.  Central Hardin and Radcliff Fire Departments worked the scene.  Hardin County EMS transported the driver to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment.  Doug's Towing & Recovery recovered the vehicle while American Enviro-Services contained and cleaned up a fuel spill.  Kentucky State Police also responded to the scene.

 

Ceciliana Drive Structure Fire

 

 

Rineyville Fire Department extinguished a structure fire on Ceciliana Drive on June 18 2008.

 

Fire Truck Rollover

 

 

Seatbelts saved the lives of two Valley Creek firefighters when their engine was involved in a rollover on Valley Creek Road as they returned to the station from a fire run on the night of May 29 2008.  Valley Creek, Central Hardin, and Elizabethtown Fire Departments extricated the driver and passenger.  The driver was transported by Hardin County EMS to Hardin Memorial Hospital.  The passenger was flown to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods.  Both were treated for minor injuries and released.  Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene. 

 

Partridge Way Structure Fire

 

 

Central Hardin Fire Department responded to a garage fire on Partridge Way on the night of May 23 2008.  The garage was fully involved upon their arrival.  Valley Creek Fire Department provided mutual aid.  Hardin County EMS and Deputies from the Hardin County Deputy Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.

 

Brown Street Structure Fire

 

 

Elizabethtown Fire Department battled a residential structure fire on East Brown Street the night of April 2 2008.  Hardin County EMS and Elizabethtown City Police also responded to the scene.

 

Semi vs. Car

 

 

Central Hardin Fire Rescue was dispatched to Interstate 65 the night of April 1 2008 after a semi tractor-trailer and a passenger car collided near mile marker 101.  Hardin County EMS, Deputies from the Hardin County Deputy Sheriff's Office, and Kentucky State Police also responded to the scene.

 

Single-Vehicle Collision

 

 

A passenger car was involved in a single-vehicle rollover on Hwy 210 at the Larue County line on the night of March 25 2008.  Central Hardin and Elizabethtown Fire Departments extricated the driver from the car.  The driver was transported to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods.  Hardin County EMS and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.

 

 

Dixie Fire School 2008

 

 

State Fire Rescue Training Area 5 hosted Dixie Fire School at Bowen Training Center in Elizabethtown on the weekend of March 9 2008.  The number of students in attendance was down and a few classes were cancelled due to a late winter storm that dropped more than a foot of snow and freezing rain across central Kentucky.  Despite the inclement weather, some students travelled more than 200 miles for training.

 

 

Semi Wreck & Fuel Spill

 

 

A semi tractor-trailer wrecked near the 89mm on Interstate 65 on February 2 2008.  Central Hardin and Glendale Fire Departments responded to the scene.  Firefighters worked to contain a fuel spill.  No injuries were reported.

 

Corvin Lane Structure Fire

 

 

Kentucky 86 Fire Department battled a structure fire on  Corvin Lane on the night of February 2 2008.  The single-family residence was fully involved upon their arrival.  Deputies from the Hardin County Deputy Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.

 

The Depot Restaurant Fire

 

 

The Depot Restaurant in downtown Glendale, KY, caught fire overnight on January 29 2008.  Glendale, Sonora, Central Hardin, and Elizabethtown Fire Departments extinguished the fire.  Hardin County EMS, Deputies from the Hardin County Deputy Sheriff's Office, and Kentucky State Police also responded to the scene.  One injury was reported.

 

Structure Fire Training

 

 

Upton Fire Department hosted live fire training on January 27 2008.  Following a series of training burns, the structure was allowed to burn to the ground.

 

SUV vs. Tree

 

 

An SUV was involved in a single-vehicle collision on January 25 2008 on Bardstown Road.  The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.  The driver was transported to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods.  Central Hardin Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, and Kentucky State Police worked the scene.

 

Vehicle Rollover

 

 

Central Hardin Fire Department and Elizabethtown Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover with entrapment on Bewley Hollow Road on the night of January 17 2008.  The driver of the pickup truck was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hardin County EMS.
