Structure Fire on Riverside Lane
Sonora Fire Department, with mutual aid from Central Hardin, Glendale, and Upton Fire Departments, battled a structure fire on Riverside Lane the night of December 19 2009. The single-family residence was fully involved upon their arrival. Hardin County EMS assisted at the scene. No injuries were reported.
Semi Tractor-Trailer Wreck
A semi tractor-trailer left the roadway and drove into a wooded area off Interstate 65 near the 101mm on the morning of December 8 2009. Central Hardin and Radcliff Fire Departments, Hardin County EMS, and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement responded to the scene. Hardin County EMS transported the driver to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment. Doug's Towing and Recovery moved the truck.
Semi Tractor-Trailer Wreck
A semi tractor-trailer overturned along the Interstate 65 exit ramp onto Western Kentucky Parkway on the morning of December 4 2009. The truck was hauling boxes of frozen Tyson chicken, which was transferred to another truck. Elizabethtown Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, and Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. Doug's Towing and Recovery moved the overturned semi and its contents.
Vehicle Collision
A man driving under the influence of alcohol crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming car near the intersection of Rineyville Road and Brock Road on the evening of November 30 2009. Rineyville and Radcliff Fire Departments extricated the drivers of both vehicles. The driver who crossed the center line was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the other car was flown to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods. Hardin County EMS, the Hardin County Coroner, Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
Cable Barriers Prevent Vehicle Crossover
Recently installed cable barriers on Interstate 65 prevented an SUV from tumbling across the median into southbound traffic after the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned. Central Hardin Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, and Kentucky State Police responded to the collision near the 100mm northbound on the morning of November 29 2009. The SUV's six occupants were wearing seatbelts and sustained only minor injuries, for which they were treated at the scene.
Vehicle Collision
Central Hardin and Radcliff Fire Departments were dispatched to an SUV rollover near the 101mm on Interstate 65 on November 26 2009. The driver of the SUV had been ejected during the rollover. He was flown by Air Methods to University Hospital in Louisville, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Hardin County EMS, Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
Vehicle Collision
A single-vehicle collision near the 88mm on Interstate 65 resulted in one injury the night of November 19 2009. Glendale, Central Hardin, and Elizabethtown Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters extricated the driver, who was flown to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods. Hardin County EMS, Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
Car Vs. Tree
Four teenagers were injured on the night of November 14 2009 when their car left the roadway and hit a tree. Two were flown to University Hospital by Air Methods. The other two were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hardin County EMS. Valley Creek Fire Department, Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
Structure Fire on Lower Colesburg Road
Central Hardin, Valley Creek, and Boston Fire Departments were dispatched November 12 2009 to a structure fire on Lower Colesburg Road. A double-wide mobile home was fully involved and already on the ground when firefighters arrived. Hardin County EMS and Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. American Red Cross provided assistance to the homeowner and refreshments for the firefighters.
Structure Fire on Mount Zion Road
Central Hardin, Radcliff, and Rineyville Fire Departments were dispatched to a fully involved mobile home and garage fire on Mount Zion Road on October 31 2009. Hardin County EMS, Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
Car vs. Semi
A passenger car drove under the side of a tractor trailer near the 100mm on Interstate 65 on September 27 2009. The driver of the car was wearing a seatbelt and walked away from the side-impact collision without injury. Central Hardin Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, and Kentucky State Police worked the scene.
Structure Fire on Wooldridge Ferry Road
A residential structure was fully involved when Central Hardin Fire Department arrived at the Wooldridge Ferry Road address on September 15 2009. Hardin County EMS and Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. No injuries were reported.
Semi Tractor Trailer Collision
Upton, Sonora, and Bonnieville Fire Departments were dispatched to a motor vehicle collsion near the 76mm on Interstate 65 on September 3 2009. Three tractor-trailers collided and one caught fire in the median. One patient was flown to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Evac. A second injured party was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hardin County EMS. Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
Truck Fire
Central Hardin Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Western Kentucky Parkway on August 22 2009. Firefighters arrived to find the pickup truck fully involved. Kentucky State Police were also at the scene. No injuries were reported.
Cardinal Drive Structure Fire
A house on Cardinal Drive caught fire the morning of August 17 2009. Elizabethtown Fire Department arrived to find smoke and flames showing. The fire was extinguished and an investigation into the cause of the fire was conducted. That night Elizabethtown and Central Hardin firefighters were dispatched to the same address, where smoke and flames again were showing. The second fire was also extinguished, and the investigation continues. Hardin County EMS and Elizabethtown City Police also responded to the scene.
Vehicle Rollover
Two people were injured when an SUV rolled over near the 129mm on Western Kentucky Parkway on July 19 2009. White Mills and Elizabethtown Fire Departments responded to the scene and extricated the driver and passenger. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. The passenger was flown to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods, but succumbed to injuries the following day. Hardin County EMS and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
Crutz Lane Structure Fire
Rineyville Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on July 9 2009. Firefighters arrived to find the Crutz Lane residence fully involved. Hardin County EMS and Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. American Red Cross also responded. No injuries were reported.
Structure Fire on Shepherdsville Road
A residence on Shepherdsville Road was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene on June 19 2009. Central Hardin and Valley Creek Fire Departments extinguished the flames. Hardin County EMS assisted at the scene.
Lincoln Heritage House Structure Fire
The historic Lincoln Heritage House, a log cabin more than a century old, burned overnight on May 29 2009 in Freeman Lake Park. The structure was fully involved when Elizabethtown Fire Department arrived. The fire was deliberately set by a mentally disturbed man. Elizabethtown City Police were also at the scene.
Semi vs. Car
A car burst into flames after colliding with a semi tractor-trailer at the 8mm on Bluegrass Parkway on May 13 2009. Central Hardin Fire Department extinguished the fire. One patient was flown to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods. Hardin County EMS and Kentucky State Police also assisted at the scene.
Shepherdsville Road Structure Fire
Central Hardin Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home fire on Shepherdsville Road on May 9 2009. Smoke was showing when firefighters arrived. Hardin County EMS and a Fire Investigator from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.
Semi Tractor-Trailer vs. Tour Bus
A semi tractor trailer collided with the rear of a parked tour bus and caught fire near the 96mm on Interstate 65 on May 7 2009. Central Hardin Fire Department extinguished the flames. Hardin County EMS, Kentucky State Police, and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement assisted at the scene. Minor injuries were reported.
Vehicle Fire
Central Hardin Fire Department extinguished a vehicle fire near the 1mm on Bluegrass Parkway on April 10 2009. The pickup truck was fully involved upon their arrival. Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. No injuries were reported.
Semi Tractor-Trailer Collision
One semi rear-ended another tractor-trailer near the 89mm on Interstate 65 on April 7 2009. Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, and Valley Creek Fire Departments responded to the scene. Firefighters extricated one driver who was trapped in the cab. The driver was transported by Hardin County EMS to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment. Kentucky State Police, Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, and Elizabethtown City Police were also at the scene.
Structure Fire on Round Top Road
Glendale, Central Hardin, and Sonora Fire Departments responded to a residential structure fire on Round Top Road on March 24 2009. The house was fully involved upon their arrival. American Red Cross provided rehab resources for the firefighters. Hardin County EMS also assisted at the scene.
Dixie Fire School 2009
Emergency services volunteers from all over Kentucky attended Dixie Fire School the weekend of March 14-15 2009 for fire, rescue, and medical training. Dixie Fire School is hosted by State Fire Rescue Training Area 5 at the Bowen Training Center in Elizabethtown.
Structure Fire on Battle Training Road
A house caught fire on Battle Training Road on March 12 2009. Central Hardin and Lebanon Junction Fire Departments extinguished the blaze.
Vehicle Fire
Central Hardin Fire Department extinguished a vehicle fire near the 7mm on Bluegrass Parkway on February 27 2009. No injuries were reported.
Motor Vehicle Collision
Two people were injured in a motor vehicle collision on Valley Creek Road on January 23 2009. Valley Creek and Elizabethtown Fire Departments extricated the patients. One driver was flown to University Hospital in Louisville by Air Methods. The other was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hardin County EMS.
Locust Grove Road Structure Fire
A mobile home caught fire on Locust Grove Road on the night of January 23 2009. Valley Creek and Central Hardin Fire Departments battled the blaze. Hardin County EMS and Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
Tanker Truck Overturned
Elizabethtown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Hwy 62 west and Ring Road on January 8 2009. A semi tanker had overturned and was leaking fuel. Elizabethtown Police Department was also at the scene. No injuries were reported.
