Saturday Night Alive

Hardin County Deputy Sheriff Bud Baumgardner organized Saturday Night Alive, a scenario based on the deadly consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol, for the April 24, 2007 presentation at Central Hardin High School. Students portrayed the drunken driver and the victims. Participating agencies included Elizabethtown Police Department, Elizabethtown Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, Hardin County Coroner's Office, LifeNet Air Medical, and Brown Funeral Home. Gold City Towing provided the wrecked vehicles.

The staged collision involved a drunken driver in one vehicle and two injured victims and one deceased victim in the other. Elizabethtown Police Sgt. Tim Cleary presented closing remarks.
